Ingredients

For the Chicken Lollipops:

  • Chicken Winglets – 6 pieces

  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tsp

  • Egg – 1

  • Corn Starch/Corn Flour – 5 to 6 tbsp

  • Black Pepper Powder – ½ tsp

  • Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp

  • Salt – 1.5 tsp

  • Coriander Powder – 1 tsp

  • Soy Sauce – 2.5 tsp

  • Red Chilli Sauce – 1 tsp

  • Hot Sauce – ½ tsp

  • Tomato Ketchup – 3 tbsp

  • Vinegar – 1 tsp

  • Chopped Onions – 1 medium-sized

  • Finely Chopped Garlic Cloves – 6 to 8

  • Cooking Oil – as needed

  • Finely Chopped Spring Onions – 1 bunch

  • Chopped Jalapeno Peppers – 1 small-sized

  • Sugar/Sweetener – ½ tsp

  • Corn Slurry (Corn Starch mixed with water) – 2 tbsp

For Garnishing:

  • Spring Onions

Instructions

Marination Process:

  1. Prepare the chicken winglets into lollipop shapes by pushing the meat down.

  2. In a bowl, mix chicken winglets with soy sauce, red chilli sauce, vinegar, black pepper, salt, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, and an egg.

  3. Coat well with corn starch/corn flour and salt.

  4. Marinate for 15-20 minutes.

Cooking Process:

  1. Fry the Lollipops:

    • Heat oil in a frying pan. Deep fry the marinated lollipops until golden brown (about 4-5 minutes).

  2. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a wok, heat oil and sauté onions, garlic, spring onions, and jalapenos.

    • Add salt, tomato ketchup, hot sauce, red chilli sauce, soy sauce, and mix well.

    • Stir in sugar/sweetener and water for a minute.

  3. Thicken the Sauce:

    • Add corn slurry to the wok and stir until it reaches a thick consistency.

  4. Coat the Lollipops:

    • Add the fried lollipops to the sauce, ensuring they are well coated.

  5. Garnish and Serve:

    • Garnish with spring onions.
