Description

Enjoy the savory delight of homemade Egg Momos paired with a tantalizing spicy Momo Chutney. These delicious dumplings, infused with rich flavors and spices, are perfect for a snack or a unique meal idea.

Ingredients

For the Egg Filling:

  • Boiled Eggs – 4

  • Finely Chopped Onions – 2 tbsp

  • Finely Chopped Ginger – 1 tsp

  • Finely Chopped Garlic – 1 tsp

  • Finely Chopped Green Chillies – 1 tsp

  • Olive Oil – 1 tbsp

  • Salt – 3 ⅓ tsp

  • Soy Sauce – 1 tsp

  • Vinegar – 1 tsp

  • Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves – 3 tbsp

For the Dough:

  • Maida/All-Purpose Flour – 1.5 cups

  • Wheat Flour/Atta – ½ cup

  • Salt – as required

  • Cooking Oil – as required

  • Water – as needed for kneading

For Frying:

  • Cooking Oil – as per preference

  • Finely Chopped Onions – as required

  • Tomato Ketchup – 2 tbsp

  • Chilli Sauce – 1 tbsp

  • Maggi Masala – 1 packet

For Spicy Momo Chutney:

  • Medium-Sized Tomatoes – 2

  • Garlic Cloves – 4 to 5

  • Dried Red Chillies – 6

  • Salt – as required

  • Sugar – 1 pinch

  • Water – as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling:

    • Mash boiled eggs in a bowl.

    • Mix in onions, garlic, ginger, green chillies, salt, olive oil, soy sauce, vinegar, and coriander.

  2. Make the Dough:

    • Combine maida, wheat flour, salt, and cooking oil. Gradually add water and knead into a hard dough.

    • Let it rest for 10-15 minutes.

    • Divide dough into equal parts, roll out, and cut into 3 to 3½ inch diameter circles.

  3. Shape the Momos:

    • Place egg filling in the center of each dough circle.

    • Bring edges together, press and seal to form momos.

    • Repeat with all dough circles.

  4. Steam the Momos:

    • Grease a steamer rack with oil.

    • Place momos on the rack and steam for 20-25 minutes.

  5. Fry the Momos:

    • Heat oil in a pan. Sauté onions, tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, and Maggi masala.

    • Add steamed momos and sauté for 1-2 minutes.

    • Remove from heat and serve with soy sauce and chilli tomato sauce.

  6. Make Spicy Momo Chutney:

    • Heat oil in a pan. Fry tomatoes, garlic, red chillies, salt, and sugar for 1-2 minutes.

    • Cool the mixture, then blend with water to a smooth paste.

  7. Serve:

    • Enjoy your Egg Momos hot, accompanied by the freshly made spicy Momo Chutney.
